We are trying to provide you with some basic information that will help you out if you are new to the clubbing scene!
So without further ado, here it goes:

-         The venues are usually categorized in the following groups. Clubs, Bars (i.e. sport bars) and lounges

-         Bars are usually places where music is NOT the first priority and the music is just there for as a background theme (if any at all!) to pull that extra crowd! To name a few we could mention smoky Joes, Filthy Mcnasty, Dave and Busters and etc. The drinks are usually the cheapest at bars. So you could chit chat, watch games (in sports bars) and still drink! If there is any music, a dance floor is not a necessity in these places. Lighting effects are very minimal if any at all! They also do not have classy and sophisticated interior designs and decorations. There is usually no cover and dress code!  So if you want to have a good time and catch up with some friends at a cheap price this is where you would want to go!

-         Clubs are mainly venues with huge dance floors that blast their music. The drinks are average price and they’re mostly better than bars when it comes to interior design and looks. Almost all the time you will pay cover, unless there is a special promotion, or you are on the VIP or Guest List! There is usually no strict dress code other than “no head gear and/or runners” but always check with the club before hands in order to avoid any issues. Lighting effects and sound systems are usually the best at clubs and hence they are the best places for partying and dancing. Clubs are ideally very well established places for your birthday parties!

-         Lounges have mostly got very nice and sophisticated interiors accompanied with very pricy drinks! Lounges are usually 21+. Some lounges are very reserved and only people on the VIP lists could attend them! Lounges usually play House music. However there are lounges that play everything and even only hip hop.  The music is not played very loud so they are the best places to go to if you do not feel like dancing and want to get to know some new people since you do not need to yell every word coming out of your mouth in each other’s ears! The dress code is almost always strict meaning not ripped jeans, no runners, head gear, athletic gear. There are however lounges that are more relaxed or more strict so always check with them before hands!

-         There are 2 types of parties, the ones with or without age restriction. The ones without are referred to as all ages. The second group will have a minimum age set out which is 95% of the times over 19+ (very occasionally 18+). The age limit is always set at the managers’ discretion and has nothing to do with law as long as it is over 19+.

-         The all ages events cater to clubbers who are NOT allowed to drink yet! That includes anybody up to the age of 19. They usually have a “Licensed VIP” area to serve those 19+ but very few 19+ clubbers attend these parties.

-         The age restricted ones vary. About 80% are 19+ however there are some that are 21+, 25+ and even a few 30+. Make sure the club you’re attending caters to the right crowd including your own age group! The 21es are becoming more popular as well so please do double check, when new clubs and events are set up or when you are not sure of the details!

-         The VIP list is usually not open for the public to join and belongs to the promoters and those who purchase bottle service! Hence it also includes drinks and a booth. It usually includes NO COVER and line bypass. In most cases it lasts until 12 am.

-         Guest list is mostly mistaken as VIP. The guest list usually entitles you to only a discounted price for guys and no cover for ladies (keep in mind that different promoters and clubs offer different things!). You are always placed in a Guest List line up regardless of being promised “no line” the line is however separated from the general admission. It all usually ends at 11ish.

-         TIP: Often times a $20 will get you and up to about 3-4 people inside without having to wait in the line. That is only if you do it discreet and mannerly! The bouncer at the door is the man to talk to! However do not push it or they will simply reject you! They might be busy and handling issues at the time. Wait until they are done and when you talk to them; do not be cocky or obnoxious! If you make it bait, you do not get hooked up. Keep in mind that this will NOT include your COVER. That has to be separately paid for once you get inside!
